COVID-19 protocols

I’m really delighted to be able to open my treatment room again and treat you with my soothing massage and reiki therapies.

In anticipation of re-opening I have been busy getting up to speed with new rules and learning about the best ways to keep everyone safe, including taking a CV-19 focussed health, safety and hygiene course, and attending a week of daily webinars on best-practice with the General Council of Massage Therapists, advanced training school Jing, and several wellbeing industry experts.

Reflecting that, I am reducing the number of daily appointments, and to begin with I am limiting treatments to body massage and reiki. The maximum appointment time is 60 minutes.

We have always had high hygiene standards including thorough hand-washing and fresh couch linens for each client as a matter of course. In addition to these, extra cleaning will take place between clients of all other surfaces that clients may come into contact with. Extra time between treatments will enable thorough ventilating of the treatment room.

Following government guidelines and advice from the GCMT and CThA I have put into place the following protocols:

  • Firstly, if you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, high temperature and/or change or loss of sense of taste or smell), please postpone or cancel your appointment. Don’t worry, I will not charge a cancellation fee regardless of how close to your appointment you need to cancel.

  • You will receive a link to a Covid-19 health check form 24-48 hours before your appointment, please complete it as soon as possible.

  • Appointment times are being reduced to a maximum of 60 minutes as advised by Public Health UK at present.

  • In accordance with new guidelines from 8th August you need to wear a face covering when you enter the property. This can be removed during the treatment when you are face down. I will also be wearing a mask and visor.

  • Upon arrival there will be hand sanitiser available for you to sterilise your hands before we go up to the treatment room.

  • The treatment room will have been well ventilated and thoroughly cleaned, and all linens and face cradle cover refreshed, before your arrival.

  • There will be a sanitised container in which to put your clothes when you undress.

  • Please bring a bottle of water with you so that you can have a drink after your treatment.

  • Ideally, it would be best if you don't require the bathroom facilities before or after your appointment, though it will have been cleaned before your arrival in case you do need to.

  • Payment can only be made via Direct Bank Transfer.

These new measures are temporary and subject to change as and when government guidelines are updated.  As these circumstances are ever changing, they will require my regular attention and revaluation. Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and support.

I look forward to welcoming you back!
